Most Poetic I'll Get

What? I think shoes are the modern piece of art that brings out the most emotions out of women. I'm not making this up, but most women remember their first shoe purchase, and have a difficult time remembering their first kiss.

I found them on the Saks website...they are quite genius! (My biggest fantasy is shopping at a shoe salon with my beau admiring all the shoes I try on and telling me he thinks I should get them all! In this fantasy the shoe is the main focus, not the guy)

Heres a great one by Blake Wright I like:

Fall 2010: The Accessory Report

These are the BEST from the Fall 2010 shows. If I had to choose one, I would have to get the Givenchy black lace-up booties (left) or the John Galliano timb-like booties (middle).

Flashback of the Summer: lots of sweets and shopping...and shoes!

Gosh I need to imagine in how bright and sunny NYC used to be a few months back...the sun was still out till 9pm then! Now it gets pitch black at 5pm...very sad. I need more summer flashbacks to keep me sane...

To think of all the cupcakes I had this summer, its pretty shameful, cheeks were getting chubbier day by day! My friend and I went shopping one day, I don't think we got anything in the end but it was fun checking out stores. Our first stop was Bloomies and had brunch at David Burke cafe. But I have to say, FLiP and forty carrots is much much better inside Bloomies than David Burke.

Then we went to the Noho/Soho area, then of course we need a break at a cafe. We went into a tiny cafe. To be honest it wasn't amazing, but then again, I'm pretty picky on what I consider to be a good or bad cafe/restaurant.

But really the highlight of the day was United Nude, a shoe shop I discovered. The shoes are designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas, as mentioned in another entry. I fell in love with a certain shoe but it was just too pricey for me.

It's so comfortable and light, simple and just black, that it really be worn every day. I had to say goodbye but hopefully I'll be able to own it some day in the future.

ZEBRA

My story on the Ridiculously High TopShop Shoes. They had two kinds: leopard and zebra print, and I decided to go for something different and get the zebra print- they are beautiful and almost like pieces of furniture- but so impractical I sadly had to return them. I wish they made a version of these that could be more wearable because the few days I had them in my apartment I couldn't stop looking at them/wearing them! I almost wore it to bed. The test for winning shoes that are sky high: if you can dance in them, you can keep them. I barely wobbled around my wooden floors, my feet are just not trained for these babies, *sigh*.

Best Accessories from the Spring Shows

1st place goes to Prada. I've always wanted clear shoes that didn't look like I just came out (working) from a strip club. All those oversized dangly crystal beads add something so special you could just wear a white tank and white shorts, but look like a princess! I have two options: a) beg my mom for these, b) try finding low-heeled clear stripper shoes and DIY them with old necklaces and earrings. I'd rather go for option A because it'll be alooottt of work and it has so much potential to become a bit tacky and just not right.

2nd place is Alexander Wang. Wasn't too crazy about the clothes, but did love the accessories. I really want to get those three-tone leopard heels. Its truly a shoe-dream come true. I mean I really want all four of those. Wouldn't it be cute to use that football clutch when you watch a game at a sports bar?

3rd is Dolce & Gabbana. My friend and I were discussing about how cool those lace inset shoes were. I like how it looks like it is just cut off and wrapped around the foot before putting on sandals. This could also be DIYed if I wanted to go through the trouble.

4th goes to Thakoon. The three shoes on the top are my favorite. It looks like they shredded luxe exotic leather. If this is knocked off at Zara, it will look horrible because the ultimate factor of this shoe is the material. So I hope nobody knocks off these shoes, because then I will get excited and want to buy it, but get really sad when I realize they aren't even close to what the beauty of the real ones embody.

5th is Proenza Schouler! Those bug-eyed glasses look so awesome. I remember also liking the weird washed-out hair dyes as well. Sorority girls around the world, please dispose your horrible Marc Jacobs/Juicy Couture sunglasses for these!

Honorable mentions...

Versace: That chain clutch is slightly reminiscent of Chloe SS08. I mean I love it, the color, the skin, and all, but it wasn't very Versace. The shoes were cute as well.

Givenchy: I've seen better Givenchy shoes, so it didn't quite meet my high expectations, but these are practical to wear (if you slice off a good one inch from it)

Alexander McQueen: Things were way too over-the-top to be even ranked. And plus everyone and their mom blogged about the shoes. My favs were the different variations of what I would say is the new industrial/military shoe. I would love to see a modified version on someone (whom is important in fashion, this excludes all celebrities of any kind) and then get photographed by Jak & Jil.

A Rather Unhealthy Dose of Shoe Porn

Shoe porn...it raises your heartbeat, you forget about life and neglect your disposable income allowance. Your heart tells you to just click on the buy button but then your logic tells you, "well those are ridiculous, they'll just be used as two identical pieces of interior decor". Well most of these designs are only sold in Europe anyway.

Chrissie Morris
I desperately lust for either of the two black wedges.

Diego Dolcini
His shoes are like Christmas ornaments. I would wear those purple mirror heels around the house naked just to focus on the shoes. I would wear them to bed. They would be my house slippers. It would be understandable if I wore them out, a random girl would come knock me down and take them away from me. Okay you get the point I'll stop.

Georgina Goodman
This was so hard to resist because they are at prices I could actually kind of afford, and they are slightly more practical than the other designers here. The black ones on the far upper right and the middle right could be worn to work. AND they are on sale...but you have to pay up in British pounds.

Rick Owens
I love that black tall boot with wings. They would probably be so heavy and if it were snowing it would fall into the wing but practicality again tends to be dismissed in the world of shoes.

LaRare
Some of these shoes are "plugged" together. I like that detail, I'm a sucker for any kind of hardware.
