Dying Will

Both my dog and I have been getting sick lately...are we just aging faster than normal or what? Hopefully after this phase I don't have to frequent the vet/doctor like how it is these days. So today before my procedure the nurse asked if I had a will. I don't but if I die please have me buried in this Rick Owens leather jacket. It is what I wanted to live in all winter. So why not wear it to death?

my FNO

Before it's too much of an old news...my very few pics from FNO. Basically spent the entire night at BNY. Started out with an early dinner @ Fred's (truffle pizza!) and did not get to see a.wang or the olsen twins! wah. Then went downtown to the Ace Hotel to go to the OC there, but there was this huge huge crowd of hipsters and young kids waiting to go inside...so we decided to go eat and drink at the Breslin. (side note: I normally avoid eating lamb but they have this amazing lamb burger YUM. + some drink that the bartender recommended which we each had two of.) Then took a cab to the Jane hotel but by the time I was there I could feel my eyes droop...so I peaced out!

Hester Street Fair

I was at the Hester Street Fair with some co-workers and friends to sell stuff for the Stylist Tent Event they have every month of the summer. I was exhausted by the end - yet couldn't sleep until midnight yesterday from all the adrenaline. It was alot of fun too and kind of a unique exerience. My co-workers and I want to come back - bigger and better - next year!

Guggenheim Hall of Minerals

I took my little sister to the Natural History Museum on the UWS. The first and last time I had visited this particular museum was around 10 years ago when my mother took me. The revisiting experience was fascinating because I had such detailed flashbacks when I was walking from one exhibit to another, especially the sea animal part and the minerals room. Nature has so much beauty, and understanding the chemistry behind the formulation of these beautiful minerals is pretty exciting. I took some pictures of my favorites, the yellow ones really caught my eye!

Officially saying Goodbye to Autumn

It snowed for the first time this season in the city, which marks the official sign of winter. I hear it will be one of the coldest winters this year- I am not looking forward to it at all! The fall season was nice though...and the walks along the Hudson river downtown with the autumn touch of fallen leaves were beautiful. I think my dog enjoyed it as well!

Flashback of the Summer: lots of sweets and shopping...and shoes!

Gosh I need to imagine in how bright and sunny NYC used to be a few months back...the sun was still out till 9pm then! Now it gets pitch black at 5pm...very sad. I need more summer flashbacks to keep me sane...

To think of all the cupcakes I had this summer, its pretty shameful, cheeks were getting chubbier day by day! My friend and I went shopping one day, I don't think we got anything in the end but it was fun checking out stores. Our first stop was Bloomies and had brunch at David Burke cafe. But I have to say, FLiP and forty carrots is much much better inside Bloomies than David Burke.

Then we went to the Noho/Soho area, then of course we need a break at a cafe. We went into a tiny cafe. To be honest it wasn't amazing, but then again, I'm pretty picky on what I consider to be a good or bad cafe/restaurant.

But really the highlight of the day was United Nude, a shoe shop I discovered. The shoes are designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas, as mentioned in another entry. I fell in love with a certain shoe but it was just too pricey for me.

It's so comfortable and light, simple and just black, that it really be worn every day. I had to say goodbye but hopefully I'll be able to own it some day in the future.

Halloween Flashback

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
For Halloween, I had wanted to be the Grinch. I would wear a neon fur coat, something similar to one of Michael Kors' FW09 collection, wrap a piece of bark in my pup's head, and accessorize with a Santa hat.

This idea was ruled out because I would not want to take my dog out with me at night, and I wasn't too excited about going all-out for Halloween. Its a cool holiday I guess, but I'll leave it to the grade school kids to take over for me, they would do it cuter anyway.

I decided to dress up as my friend for his rooftop party, I felt it was a subtle and appropriate choice. He let me "DJ", which basically meant plugging in my i-pod playlist and switching the songs. But that made me perfectly content and it pretty much made my night.

The Weekend

Saturday night: a friend's farewell party at Maru. It was supposed to be a costume-ish party at first but then he changed his mind, but apparently I was the only who didn't get that memo. I wore my little dress I got in Tokyo two years ago. Plus some fishnets I ordered online out of the blue this summer.

Sunday: a baptism in New Jersey. For Manhattanites, a trip to New Jersey is like a mini getaway to suburbia, it was nice to see autumn trees along the way. I wore my violet Tsumori Chisato dress and Alexander McQueen creme blazer (also a yellow pashmina I got in Paris and an Alexander Wang cardigan underneath for extra warmth and cushion).
