I ♥ FUR

New York is so cold...practically blizzarded this past weekend. What can keep you warm if you live in icy cold climates?
  1. layers and layers x10 of clothing
  2. sheepskin boots and wooly socks
  3. earmuffs, gloves, scarves, hats
  4. hot packs that you can stick here and there inside pockets
  5. FURRR!!

Hair Envy

Recently I got my haircut...very short and not loving it. I originally wanted to dye my hair in this color. I love reds...natural or artificial reds! First picture is of Korean actress Eunhye Yoon and second picture is of fashion editor Taylor Tomasi.

Twelve Days of Christmas

For the past week or two, I've been looking for Christmas gifts online to give to close friends and family...it stresses me out! I think everyone should have a personal gift guide so that people can choose from a list of what the receiver actually wants (but still come of somewhat a surprise, because you wouldn't know which gift the giver will select). If I had to come up with an ideal gift guide for Christmas 2009, this would be it:

More Zebra

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
About a month ago, I posted pics of the zebra platforms from TopShop I owned for two seconds (They are now available on the website to buy). I've been much of a leopard print kind of girl since high school, but I wanted to change it up a bit. Plus zebra print is easy to coordinate outfits with since its black and white. Once again, I really wish they had a more practical version of this shoe so it doesn't make me feel like I'm on stilts. I took way too many pics of it before I had to bring it back to Broadway & Broome.

And of course more outfit pics from playing dress-up at home I thought I could wear with the shoes.
#1: With my helmut lang dress I love so much that I got on sale last year. You have to feel the material and see the construction inside and out, to fall in love with this dress.

#2: With two long vests, both from KUHO. Accessorized with a MARNI necklace (on the left) and a FOREVER21 necklace (on the right) that is supposed to be a knock-off of lanvin.

#3:With my vintage leather jacket with extreme batwings. I could pretty much fit in some of my stuff in each armhole. I feel silly wearing this jacket even in new york! Functionality-wise, its heavy but very warm.

And an illustration I found to add to this post- zebratastic!

Officially saying Goodbye to Autumn

It snowed for the first time this season in the city, which marks the official sign of winter. I hear it will be one of the coldest winters this year- I am not looking forward to it at all! The fall season was nice though...and the walks along the Hudson river downtown with the autumn touch of fallen leaves were beautiful. I think my dog enjoyed it as well!

Barneys has a blog!

I get e-mail blasts from Barneys almost every day, and their graphics are always specially designed just for the e-mail blast I thought it was such a pretty waste. And sometimes I see youtube videos of their creative director and fashion director...it all just made me wish they would have their own blog to archive these, or let out all their tasteful ruling for us regular citizens to follow. When I go shopping for myself I usually trust designers and brands that has the Barneys seal of approval. Like I can't get myself to purchase a fragrance for a loved one that sells at Sephora and every other store, but would consider spending extra bucks if it is somewhat exclusive so they can still smell nice but not like everybody else. Especially when you live in NYC, live around tons of people, this is more likely.

But anyway...now they have their own blog! ta-da!
